Your Headshot Session in Liverpool: What to Expect

Relaxed, confident and recognisably themselves. That is the goal of every session.

Most people walk into a headshot session a little nervous. They are not sure what they will be asked to do, whether they will look awkward, or how long it will take. Knowing what to expect takes most of that away, and relaxed people make much better photos.

So here is exactly what happens when you book a professional headshot session with me in Liverpool, from the first message to the final images landing in your inbox.

The short version

  • We chat first about where the photos are going and the impression you want to give.
  • The session is relaxed, with plenty of guidance. You do not need to know how to pose.
  • You see images on the back of the camera as we go.
  • We choose the best shots together.
  • Edited images arrive in a private online gallery, ready for LinkedIn and your website.

Before the session

When you book, I ask a few simple questions. Where will the photos be used: LinkedIn, a company website, a speaker profile, press? What do you want people to feel when they see you: approachable, authoritative, creative? Is there a company style to match? That shapes the background, the lighting and how we direct the session.

I also send some simple guidance on clothes. My guide on what to wear for a corporate headshot covers it in detail, but the short version is: bring two or three options you feel good in, in solid colours.

Guided, not posedI direct small changes in angle, posture and expression, and give you something to think about, not just “smile”.

You do not need to know how to pose. That is my job. Your job is to turn up and be you.

How I direct you

Instead of asking for a fake smile, I give you a thought or a small scenario to react to. Real expressions look warm and confident rather than stiff. If you are worried about how to stand or what to do with your face, my guide on how to pose for a headshot explains the small things that make a big difference.

After the session

Your edited images arrive in a private, password protected online gallery that you can download from and share. Edits are natural: tidying stray hairs, balancing skin and colour, removing temporary blemishes. You will still look like you, just on a good day. They are sized ready for LinkedIn, your website and print.

How long it takes and what it costs

An individual session is relaxed but efficient, and most people are surprised how quickly it goes. My individual professional headshot session is £180. For teams, the price depends on how many people, the location and the setup, so I quote each one. See team headshots at your office and what corporate headshots cost.
