Music artist photography & music videos in Liverpool

Press shots, cover art, release content and music videos for musicians, bands, DJs and producers — built around the release cycle rather than dropped on top of it. One shoot, built to your release — you tell me how much you need and where it’s going. Music video production, live gig and festival filming, press shots and cover artwork, all out of the same day.

What you leave with

  • Press shots and headshots — for editors, playlists, profiles and booking agents
  • Cover art and single artwork sized for every store and platform
  • A music video, performance film, lyric video or visualiser
  • Live gig, festival and concert coverage — photo and film
  • Short-form cuts for Reels, TikTok, Shorts and Spotify Canvas
  • Social content — studio days, rehearsals, tour diaries and behind-the-scenes
  • Promo stills for posters, flyers, merch and event listings
  • EPK assets for press packs and booking enquiries

Choose what you need

Press & promo

A press set editors can actually use — landscape, portrait and square, band frames and solo frames, plus stills that work on posters, flyers and gig announcements.

Cover & artwork

Square frames from the same session for the single, EP or album, with alternates for the tracks around it so the campaign holds together.

Profile & platforms

Avatar, header and gallery frames sized for Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and YouTube, so your pages stop looking half-finished.

Video

A music video, performance film, visualiser or release trailer — planned around the release cycle rather than filmed as a separate job.

Short form

Vertical cuts for Reels, TikTok and Spotify Canvas: announce, pre-save, release day and the weeks after, from the same day’s footage.

Live & behind the scenes

Studio, rehearsal and gig content that keeps the feed moving between releases instead of going quiet.

Creative direction

A pre-shoot call to set the look, locations, styling and grade. Moodboard for the release, and stylist, MUA or location co-ord arranged on request.

Sizes you’ll be asked for

  • Cover artSquare. 3000×3000 as standard, 4000×4000 master for Apple Music
  • Spotify profileAvatar from 750×750 · header from 2660×1140 · gallery from 690×500
  • Spotify CanvasVertical 9:16, 3–8 seconds, silent, 720×1280 and up
  • Reels & TikTok1080×1920, framed loose so captions never eat your face
  • YouTube1280×720 thumbnails · 2560×1440 channel banner
  • PressHigh-res landscape, portrait and square, plus web-res versions for editors

Tell me what you need

It’s built to your release — no fixed package, quoted to what you need. Six things and I can shape the day around you:

  • How many images — a handful for the release, or a set to carry the whole campaign
  • How many videos, and how long — one music video, a performance film, or a run of short cuts
  • How many looks — outfit changes, locations, band frames and solo frames
  • Where it’s going — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, press and playlist pitches
  • What the edit has to do — the grade, the mood, anything that has to match the artwork
  • Your release date — and what lands before it: announce, pre-save, release day, launch gig

Send me that and I’ll build the shoot around it. You brief the shoot; I quote to the brief.

Content creator & personal brand photography in Liverpool

Stills, reels and vertical video for creators, influencers and anyone building a personal brand — a bank of content from a single session. One day, built to your calendar — you tell me how much you need and where it’s going.

What you leave with

  • A content day — photo and video from the same session
  • Reels and TikToks shot vertical, framed loose so captions never eat your face
  • Lifestyle and personal-branding photography that actually looks like you
  • Campaign, product and launch frames for whatever you are releasing
  • Event and project coverage, shot to post the same week
  • One wide film for your site, press kit or YouTube

Choose what you need

Content day

Photo and video out of one session — a bank of content for the month ahead, rather than one post you have to squeeze everything into.

Short form

Vertical cuts for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, framed with air top and bottom so captions and platform buttons never sit across your face.

Personal brand stills

Portraits, working shots and lifestyle frames that look like you on an ordinary day — not like a stock library. If it is for a company profile rather than a personal brand, business and LinkedIn headshots have their own page.

Launch & campaign

Product, service or project frames for whatever you are releasing, plus the announce, countdown and day-one cuts around it. For a physical range there is also product and ecommerce content.

Profile & platforms

Avatar, banner and header frames sized for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and your own site, so your pages stop looking half-finished.

Media kit & pitches

The stills and the one wide film brands ask for when you send a rate card — shot so the pitch looks like the work. Making it for a business rather than a personal brand? That is business video production.

Creative direction

A pre-shoot call to set the looks, locations and the content pillars we are filling. Moodboard for the month, and stylist, MUA or location co-ord arranged on request.

Sizes you’ll be asked for

  • Reels, TikTok & Shorts1080×1920, 9:16. Shot with air top and bottom so captions and platform buttons never cover your face.
  • Feed posts1080×1350 portrait takes the most screen. Square 1080×1080 and landscape 1080×566 come out of the same frame.
  • Stories1080×1920, with the middle kept clear for stickers, polls and link taps.
  • Profiles & bannersInstagram 320×320 · TikTok 200×200 · LinkedIn 400×400 with a 1584×396 banner · YouTube channel art 2560×1440.
  • YouTube & LinkedIn1280×720 thumbnails, a 16:9 master for anything longer than a Short, and 1200×627 for LinkedIn posts.
  • Website & media kitA wide hero film for your site, landscape stills for headers, and print-resolution files for rate cards and brand decks.

Tell me what you need

It’s built to your calendar — no fixed package, quoted to what you need.

  • How much content — a few hero images, or a month of posts out of one day.
  • How many videos, and how long — quick vertical hooks, a minute-long piece, or one wide film for the site.
  • How many looks — outfits, setups and locations you want covered before we wrap.
  • Where it’s going — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, your website, a brand pitch.
  • Who it’s for — your own audience, or a brand you are trying to land.
  • What’s coming up — a launch, a collab, an event, or just the feed going quiet.

Send me that and I’ll build the day around it. You brief the content; I quote to the brief.

Dancer, model & performer photography in Liverpool

Movement, performance and portrait work for dancers, models and performers — built around what you’re actually asked for. This is media for you as a performer: your portfolio, your portraits, your promo and your reel content. One session, shaped to what’s coming up — you tell me how much you need and where it’s going.

What you leave with

  • Movement and performance photography — shape, line and timing held sharp
  • Technique and show reels, dance film and rehearsal footage
  • A portfolio set: full length, three-quarter, waist-up and headshot
  • Digitals and comp card sizes, clean and unretouched
  • Editorial and campaign frames from the same session
  • Your own performances filmed at shows and showcases, plus vertical social content

Choose what you need

Movement & dance photography

Jumps, extensions and turns caught at the top rather than on the way down. Shape, line and timing held sharp — the same brief whether you are a dancer, an aerial or circus artist, a pole performer or a gymnast.

Portfolio set

Full length, three-quarter, waist-up and headshot out of one session, so an agent, a company or a director sees the whole picture in a single link.

Digitals & comp card frames

Clean, unretouched frames on a plain background — straight on, profile, thigh-up and full length. The set agencies ask for before they ask for anything else.

Reels & dance film

A technique reel and a show reel, cut to the length agencies, companies and cruise lines ask for and delivered ready to link on an application — plus a filmed piece for your own site if you want one.

Your performance, filmed

Your own routine, set or piece filmed while you’re on stage — at a show, a showcase or a competition — and cut into reel material, clips for socials and stills from the night. Filmed around you rather than the whole running order. If you’re a dance school, academy or company looking to capture the whole production, that’s covered by my separate Dance Show Filming service.

Personal brand & promo

Content that belongs to you rather than to a company — profile and about-page portraits, audition-season updates, promo for your own classes or workshops if you teach, and images sized for listings, programmes and press when you’re the one being billed.

Editorial & campaign

Styled frames for editorial submissions, brand work and campaign pitches — and character and costume looks for drag, cabaret and musical theatre performers whose promo changes with the show.

Creative direction

A pre-shoot call on styles, pieces, wardrobe and locations. Moodboard for the session, and stylist, MUA or studio space arranged on request.

Sizes you’ll be asked for

  • Agency portfolio & bookFull-length and three-quarter frames at print resolution, cropped 4:5 and 3:4 with headroom above and floor under the feet — nothing clipped at the ankles.
  • Comp card / Z-card8.5×5.5in at 300dpi — one hero on the front, three or four on the back showing range, supplied at the crop and resolution the card needs.
  • DigitalsPlain background, natural light, no retouching: face straight on, profile, thigh-up, full length and a three-quarter turn.
  • Casting & audition profilesSpotlight galleries take 1MB–40MB files, minimum 500×500, up to 15 images — four or five strong ones beat fifteen average.
  • Reels, TikTok & Shorts1080×1920, 9:16, framed with air above the head so a jump stays inside the frame and captions never sit across your face.
  • Show promo & press1920×1080 landscape for venue listings and ticket pages, 1080×1350 for the feed, and 300dpi files for posters, flyers and programmes.

Tell me what you need

It’s built to what you’re preparing for — no fixed package, quoted to what you need.

  • What you do — dance, modelling, aerial or circus, pole, drag or cabaret, musical theatre, or movement work like gymnastics, cheer, skating and martial arts.
  • Who it’s for — an agency, a company, a dance school, a course or audition, a brand, or your own portfolio.
  • How many looks — outfits, costume changes and how many setups we are filling.
  • Photo, film, or both — stills only, a reel, a show to film, or a set with vertical cuts on top.
  • Studio or location — a clean backdrop, a rehearsal room, a stage, or somewhere in the city with room to move.
  • What’s coming up — an audition date, a show, a season, or a portfolio that needs rebuilding.

Send me that and I’ll build the session around it. You brief the shoot; I quote to the brief.

FAQs

Artist photography & videography in Liverpool — your questions

Choose Music, Content Creator or Dance & Model above and these questions change with you.

What types of artists do you work with?
Musicians, singers and bands, DJs and producers, dancers, models, aerial and circus performers, actors, drag and cabaret artists, content creators and anyone building a personal brand. If you perform or create, the shoot gets built around that rather than dropped on top of it.
Can we shoot in a studio or on location in Liverpool?
Both. There is a studio set-up for clean, controlled work — press shots, headshots, digitals and profile images — and Liverpool has the streets, docks, warehouses and rooftops for anything that needs atmosphere. Most shoots use a mix of the two in one day.
Do you travel outside Liverpool?
Yes. Manchester, Chester, the wider North West and London are all regular. Travel outside Merseyside is quoted with the shoot, so you know the whole cost before anything gets booked in.
How much does an artist photoshoot cost?
There is no fixed package. You tell me what you need — how many looks, how many finished images, whether there is video — and I quote to that brief. Half days and full days are both available, and everything is agreed before the shoot.
How long does it take to get my photos and video back?
The edited set lands in 3–5 working days. Larger video projects run to their own timeline. If you are working to a release date, an audition cut-off or a campaign launch, say so when you enquire and we work backwards from it.
Do I own the photos, and can I use them for paid ads?
You get full use of your images and video for your own promotion — socials, streaming profiles, press, your website and casting profiles. Paid advertising, brand campaigns and third-party commercial use are agreed up front so the licence matches where the work is actually going.
I have never done a proper shoot before — is that a problem?
Not at all, and it is most people. I am a working actor as well as a photographer, so I have spent plenty of time on your side of the lens. We start easy, I direct you through it, and you see shots on the back of the camera as we go.
Can you help with creative direction and ideas?
Yes. If you arrive with a mood board, we build on it. If you arrive with nothing but a deadline, we work out the concept, locations, looks and shot list together on a call before the day.
How do I book a shoot?
Tell me what you are working on and roughly when it needs to be live. I come back with an approach, a shot list and a quote — once that is agreed, we lock a date in.
What is an artist press shot, and how is it different from a headshot?
A press shot is the wider, atmospheric image that goes to blogs, radio, festivals and playlist pitches — it carries the mood of the music. A headshot or profile portrait is the tighter, cleaner crop that sits on Spotify, Apple Music and socials. Most artists need both, and both come out of the same session.
Do you shoot cover art for singles, EPs and albums?
Yes — framed square from the start rather than cropped down afterwards. Artwork is delivered at 3000×3000px as standard and 4000×4000px where Apple Music wants it, with space left in the frame for titles and logos.
Do you film music videos and live sessions in Liverpool?
Yes — music videos, live sessions, performance films, rehearsal footage and behind-the-scenes. Liverpool has the studios, venues, warehouses and waterfront to shoot almost any look without a travel budget attached to it.
What image sizes do I need for Spotify, Apple Music and my streaming profiles?
Profile avatars from 750×750px, Spotify artist headers from 2660×1140px, gallery images from 690×500px and cover art square at 3000×3000px. Every crop is exported ready to upload, so nothing gets squashed or auto-cropped through your head.
Can you make Spotify Canvas loops and vertical clips for TikTok and Reels?
Yes. Canvas loops are shot vertical and silent at 3–8 seconds, 720×1280px or better. TikTok, Reels and Shorts cuts are framed at 1080×1920px with room at the top and bottom so captions and platform buttons never sit over your face.
Can you photograph the whole band as well as individual members?
Yes — group shots plus individual portraits of every member in the same session, so you leave with a band press shot and a usable profile image for each person. Worth agreeing a rough wardrobe palette beforehand so the group reads as one act.
What should I wear for a music press shoot?
An elevated version of what you already wear on stage — it should signal the genre without tipping into costume. Solid colours photograph better than busy prints, bring two or three looks, and fit matters far more than price.
How far ahead of my release should I book the shoot?
Ideally four to six weeks before the release date. That leaves time for the shoot, the edit and artwork approval, and gets press shots out to blogs, playlists and press ahead of the drop — with the vertical content ready before the teaser campaign starts.
Do you shoot live gigs and behind the scenes?
Yes — gigs, support slots, launch shows, studio sessions and rehearsals. Live and behind-the-scenes content is usually what feeds your socials between releases, so it is worth building into the same booking.
What is a content day?
A full session built to produce a bank of content in one go — stills and vertical video together, across several looks and setups. Instead of one shoot for one post, you leave with enough to post consistently for weeks.
How many photos and videos do I get from a content day?
That is yours to set. You tell me how many finished images, how many video cuts, how many looks and where they are going, and the day and the quote get built around that rather than handing you a fixed number.
Do I own the content, and can a brand use it in a paid campaign?
You have full use of everything for your own channels and personal brand. If a brand is paying to run it as an ad or as UGC on their own account, that is agreed up front and licensed properly — it protects you as much as me.
Do you film vertical video for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts?
Yes — filmed vertical at 1080×1920px and framed loose so captions, stickers and platform buttons never cover your face. Horizontal and square versions of the same setups can be cut at the same time if you also post to YouTube or LinkedIn.
Can you shoot content for a brand collaboration or a paid partnership?
Yes. Bring the brief and the deliverables list and we shoot to it — hero stills, in-use shots, unboxing or demo video, plus the extra frames brands always ask for late. Everything is exported in the exact ratios the brand has specified.
What should I bring to a content day?
Three to five looks, anything you are launching or promoting, any props or products that appear in the content, and a rough list of the posts you already know you need. If there is a brand brief, send it over before the day.
Can you photograph my products as well as me?
Yes — product stills, flat lays, in-use and lifestyle frames, plus short video of the product in your hands. Shot in the same session so the product content matches the personal-brand content instead of looking bought in.
How often should a content creator refresh their content?
Most creators book a content day every one to three months, or around a launch, a rebrand or a new season. The point is to stay ahead of your posting schedule rather than shooting something the night before it is due.
Can we plan the shot list before the day?
Yes, and it is the part that makes the day pay for itself. We go through your calendar, campaigns and launches on a call first, then build a running order so nothing gets missed while everyone is mid-shoot.
What do I need for a dance audition or a company application?
Usually a headshot, a full-length or dance shot, a CV that states your height, and links to a technique reel and a show reel — often as unlisted YouTube links. Cruise lines, companies and commercial castings all ask for a version of that same set.
What is the difference between a technique reel and a show reel?
A technique reel is clean and front-on, edited lightly enough for a panel to see your training, lines and control — usually filmed in a studio. A show reel is the edited highlight cut of you performing, pulled from shows, stage footage and film work. Most contracts ask for both.
What should I wear for a dance photoshoot?
Fitted, solid colours that show the line of your body — no busy prints, logos or loose jewellery. Bring your discipline’s kit (pointe shoes, heels, grips, trainers) plus one clean, plain outfit for headshots and digitals.
Do you shoot model digitals and comp cards?
Yes. Digitals are shot unretouched on a plain background — straight on, profile, three-quarter turn, thigh-up and full length — exactly as agencies ask for them. Comp cards are laid out at 8.5×5.5in at 300dpi, with one hero image on the front and three or four on the back.
What size should a dance audition headshot be?
An 8×10 at 300dpi for print, plus a web version around 1500px on the long edge and under 2MB for online submissions. Casting and profile sites such as Spotlight want a minimum of 500×500px, and you get both tight and three-quarter crops so you are covered either way.
Can you film me performing at a show or competition?
Yes. I film your own routine or set while you’re on stage — at a show, a showcase or a competition — and cut it into reel material, clips for your socials and stills from the night. The coverage is built around you rather than the full running order, so what you get back is usable in an application or a profile straight away.
Can you photograph aerial, pole, circus and other movement disciplines?
Yes — aerial hoop and silks, pole, circus, gymnastics, contemporary, commercial, drag, cabaret and musical theatre. Shooting movement is about knowing when to release the shutter, so the timing gets rehearsed with you rather than guessed at.
Do you work with dance schools and companies?
Yes, but it’s a different service to this one. Everything on this page is for you as an individual performer — your portfolio, your promo, your own content. Schools, academies and companies putting on a whole show, recital or production have their own page, built around capturing the full night. And if it’s a company, brand or private event rather than a performance, that’s event photography and filming.
Where do dance and model images actually get used?
Casting and agency profiles, company applications, audition submissions, festival and venue listings, posters and programmes at 300dpi, plus verticals at 1080×1920px for your own socials. Everything is exported in the format the person on the other end is expecting.

Artist photographer & videographer in Liverpool

I'm based in Liverpool, and most of my work happens within a few miles of the city centre — studio sessions in town, and location shoots around the city when the light and the setting suit the work better than four walls do.

Artists come to me from right across Merseyside and the North West. Musicians in the middle of a release. Dancers and theatre performers building a portfolio. Actors preparing for casting. Creatives who just need content that finally looks like them.

I’m a working actor as well as a photographer, so I know what it feels like to be the one being looked at — and I know what a portfolio actually has to do once it leaves the shoot. Recent work runs from single artwork and press shots in the studio to filming a full live tribute set at Liverpool Cathedral.

You do not need to book two people for the same project. Artist photography and video come out of the same day, in Liverpool, from the same person — promotional photography, performer portraits and creative videography planned together from the start rather than bolted on afterwards.

Wherever you are in the North West, tell me what you're working on and we'll work out whether the studio or a location is the right call.

For actors

I’m a working actor as well as a photographer — so casting work has its own pages, built to Spotlight and Mandy specs.
