Planning a personal branding shoot in Liverpool?

Tell me what you need the photographs and video for, and I'll help you work out what to shoot. The planning call is free and arranged by email.

Why it matters

People buy from people. Usually right after they have looked you up.

Before anyone books a coach, hires a consultant or picks an estate agent, they check your website and your LinkedIn. If all they find is a cropped holiday photo and a stock picture of a handshake, you have lost them before the first email.

A personal branding shoot fixes that with pictures that look like you on a good day at work. The headshot, yes, but also you with clients, at your desk, on stage and in the places that say what you do.

It is not the same as a headshot session. A headshot is one job. A brand shoot is a library you can post from for months.

What I shoot

Four things a personal branding shoot covers

Most people want a mix. We decide the balance on the planning call, based on where the pictures are going.

Brand portraits

Headshots and relaxed portraits in two or three looks, so your website, LinkedIn and speaker bio stop using the same photo.

Who it's for

Who books a personal branding shoot

Coaches, consultants and trainers

You are the product. Clients want to see who they will be sitting across from before they book a discovery call.

Founders and small business owners

About page, press, pitch decks and the launch post. One shoot covers the lot, and you stop borrowing a photo from your last job.

Freelancers and the self-employed

Designers, copywriters, stylists, trades, personal trainers. When the work is you, a photo of you doing it does more than any logo.

Estate agents, solicitors and advisers

People come to you at a big moment. A friendly, current face on the listing or the team page is often what gets the call.

Speakers and authors

Stage shots, a filmed talk and a portrait that works on a book jacket, an event poster and a speaker bio.

Makers and shop owners

You at the bench, behind the counter or in the kitchen. The person behind the product is what people share.

Authors and book launches

Launch day is brand content too

A launch or signing gives you the author portrait, the book in hand, the backdrop and a room full of people who came for you. Shot properly, it covers the press release, your author page and months of posts.

When you are the brand

Founders, makers and creators who sell on their own face need more than one headshot: a profile picture that matches the website, and frames that look like you at work. One shoot covers every platform.

Planned, not winged

A shoot planned around what you actually post

Before the day

A free planning call, arranged by email. We work out where the pictures are going, which pages need them and what the next few months of posts look like. Then a shot list, looks and locations. If you like to read up first, there is a guide to planning a personal branding photoshoot and one on what to wear for your photoshoot.

On the day

Two to four looks across the studio and location. I direct the whole time, so nobody is left wondering what to do with their hands, and video is shot between the stills rather than on another day. Worried about the video part? These tips on looking natural on camera help more than you would think.

Locations

A location can be arranged on request, so you just turn up.

Pricing

How much does personal branding photography cost?

No caps and no packages. I don’t limit how many images or videos you get, and I don’t put everyone on the same rate, because every brand needs something different. Your shoot is quoted against what you need, and the quote is agreed before you book.

Brand shoot

Quoted on the brief

Photo, video or both, in the studio, at your workplace or on location. What moves the price:

  • How long we shoot for
  • How many looks and locations
  • Whether video is included, and how much editing sits behind it
  • A location to book
  • Travel outside Liverpool city centre

Just need a headshot?

£180 a sitting

If one good LinkedIn photo is all you need right now, a headshot session does the job.

  • Studio session on Maryland Street
  • Directed the whole way through
  • Private gallery to choose from
  • Files sized for LinkedIn and your website

Not sure which you need? The planning call is free, and I will tell you straight.

Behind the camera

Your Liverpool personal branding photographer

Hate having your photo taken? Most people do. Getting you past that is my job, not yours.

I'm Luke, a Liverpool photographer and videographer. I have been photographing and filming the people and businesses of Liverpool and Merseyside since 2013. You get time to settle in before the camera even comes out, then I direct you through every frame so you look and feel like yourself. It’s relaxed and collaborative, not a stiff sitting.

Personal branding photography sits alongside the business photography and branded content I shoot, so I plan with the end use in mind: the homepage, the LinkedIn banner, the talk poster and the next few months of posts.

I talk you through every frame, keep it moving and tell you when something works. Most people forget to be nervous about twenty minutes in.

You deal with me from the first email to the last file.

FAQs

Personal branding photography questions

What is personal branding photography?

It is a set of photos, and often video, built around you rather than a product. Portraits, working shots and lifestyle frames that show who you are and what you do, so your website, LinkedIn and socials all feel like the same person.

How is a personal branding shoot different from a headshot?

A headshot is one job: a clean, current photo of your face. A personal branding shoot is a library. Several looks, you at work, you with clients, details of what you do and short video, so you have months of material rather than one profile picture.

How much does a personal branding photoshoot cost in Liverpool?

Every brand shoot is quoted against the brief, because a two hour studio session and a full day across three locations with video are different jobs. The things that move the price are how long we shoot, how many looks and locations, whether video is included and how much editing sits behind it. If one good headshot is all you need, an individual session is £180.

Do you film video as well as take photos?

Yes. Talking to camera clips, an intro film for your homepage and vertical cuts for Reels, TikTok and LinkedIn can all be shot in the same session as your stills, so you only give up one day.

Can you film talking to camera videos for LinkedIn?

Yes. Short talking to camera pieces are one of the most useful things a brand shoot can give you: an intro to who you are, answers to the questions clients always ask, and a clip for your LinkedIn featured section. We plan the topics on the call, and I keep you on track on the day so it sounds like you talking rather than reading.

Can you film a batch of reels in one session?

Yes. Filming several vertical clips in one sitting is the easiest way to keep posting without booking a shoot every month. Each one is cut for Reels, TikTok and Shorts with room for captions, and they can sit alongside your stills from the same day.

How many photos will I get?

There’s no cap and no package to squeeze into. Everything worth keeping goes into your private gallery, you choose your favourites and I edit the ones you pick. A longer shoot with more looks simply gives you more to choose from.

Where can we shoot?

In my studio on Maryland Street in Liverpool city centre, at your office, shop, clinic or workshop, or on location somewhere that suits your brand. Plenty of shoots do a bit of both.

Can you come to my workplace?

Yes, and it is often the best option. Your own space says more about what you do than any backdrop, and it saves you travelling.

What should I wear for a personal branding shoot?

Bring what you would wear to meet a new client, plus one smarter and one more relaxed option. Plain colours and good fit beat patterns and logos. We go through outfits on the planning call so nothing is left to guesswork.

I hate having my photo taken. Will this work for me?

Most people I photograph say exactly that. I direct every frame, keep things moving and tell you straight when something works.

What if I don’t like the photos?

Tell me. If a look didn’t work, I’ll reshoot it free of charge. The planning call and direction on the day are there so it rarely comes to that.

Can you arrange a location?

Yes. A location can be booked on request and included in your quote.

How quickly will I get my photos?

You get a private gallery to choose from within 48 hours. Edited stills and video follow in 4 to 7 days depending on the size of the shoot, and the delivery date is agreed before you book.

How often should I update my brand photos?

Once a year is a good rhythm, or sooner if you change your look, your role or what you sell. Plenty of people book a shorter top up shoot between bigger ones.

Is this for content creators and influencers too?

If creating content is your job, my content creator shoots on the artist side are built for that: reels, TikToks and a bank of content for brand deals. This page is for people whose face sells a service or a business.

Do you cover the Wirral and the rest of Merseyside?

Yes. I shoot across Liverpool, Merseyside, the Wirral, Sefton, St Helens and into Cheshire and the wider North West.
